What are ACTS containers?
ACTS (Abroll-Container-Transport-System) is a European intermodal container transport system combining road and rail transport. Containers are loaded directly from a truck onto a rail wagon and back without transhipping content — significantly reducing transport time and costs.
Standard UIC 50 591 (also used as UIC 591) defines the dimensional and construction requirements for ACTS containers, compatible with special rail platform wagons (ACTS wagons) equipped with an automatic loading system.
